Hi! I’m Thomas Lundstrom.
I’m starting my journey to build an internet business and I’m bringing you with me. I’ll share both my victories and my failures with you equally. I’m here because I’m passionate about helping anyone interested in becoming an internet entrepreneur navigate through all the noise out there. I want to give it to you straight up. I’ll be sharing guides, step-by-step instruction and tips, and tricks that I have found to actually work.
I know what it’s like to work a 9-5 job, to live a third of your life in a cubicle. I also know what it’s like to work
I am here to show you that there’s a way to put your life back in your hands. There is a way to live a happy free life that you deserve. I’m not claiming that I will change your life, but I will provide you with the tools to do it yourself.
It’s your life, so why let it be managed by someone else?
Every Post will have some actionable content that will guide you on your way out of the drudgery. Everything from finding the lifestyle you actually want to the nitty gritty of site design and search engine optimization. At 16 I dropped out of school, got a GED, went to work full time and moved out on my own. Growing up college was never even discussed. I was taught you had to work hard to get anywhere in life, so that’s what I did. I started out working in restaurants as a cook. I would work long hours for little pay just because I had to pay my bills.
In 2007 I got a job as a finish carpenter. It was an upgrade from cooking. I got paid better and didn’t have to work until 1 AM anymore. Sadly this job was short lived. in 2008 the housing market tanked. Luckily, I was the last one let go of since it was my job finish the homes. I saw all my coworkers getting let go of, and having to claim unemployment since their field of expertise was in a devastated state. Even my older brother who got me the job was fired before me.
This is the point that I truly realized that I had no security at all.
After I got laid off I started taking college courses at the local community college. I began consuming any knowledge I could find that would enable me to have a backup plan. I thought myself web design from books at a local library. I promptly got a business license to begin making websites for income. This worked pretty well while I was earning my associates degree. During this time I met the woman who I would later propose to(spoiler: she said yes). After I finished my associates we decided that the next logical step would be a bachelors.
I was accepted into the state university on the other side of the state. My girlfriend, myself and her 7 year old son packed up and moved. Before starting any classes I was hired by the university that I was to attend to do web design. I thought I had finally made it. Stable pay and holidays off it sounded great. I was so, so, so wrong.
There is no monotony I’ve ever experienced that rivals converting websites to new designs for a university. I would copy and the past for 8 hours straight. Usually about topics that I had no interest in. I once spent 3 weeks converting a website about potatoes, Nothing but academic data sets about potato growth. For the next two years, i copied and pasted my days away. At least I was getting paid well right?
After a year of this I was halfway through my degree, that summer our youngest was born. My wife got to stay home with him for 12 weeks, and then it was off to daycare while we worked. This is when I started feeling the dread on Sunday nights. There’s nothing like leaving your infant to go sit in a cubicle and press ctrl-c and ctrl-v all day.
This is when things changed. I had started a business before and loved the freedom it allowed in my life. I started doing research, a lot of research, I would listen to podcasts all day at work, and read books after the kids went to bed. After a year of research, I found it. The solution.
I discovered a way to harness the expanses of the internet to build a business that didn’t demand a strict time schedule. I was able to work when my son was asleep. I was able to be there with him in the morning.
From this point on everything I did was to ensure that I got to spend quality time with my family. My happiness and my freedom became the driving factors of my life, not someone else’s schedule. I would have quit my job, but they let me go after I graduated. Since I wasn’t a student anymore I would have to get a raise and a benefits package, the university didn’t want the extra expense.
It hasn’t always been easy I’ve come to a lot of roadblocks. I’ve been through second guessing my decision. I’ve been lost with no one to guide me. I didn’t always know what the next step was. It was difficult starting out. it took quite a bit of perseverance.
Now I’m a free man. I get to go to work(my home office) with a smile on my face. I get to eat lunch with my wife every day. I get to watch my children grow up, without missing out on anything. I have truly crafted a life that I love. I am able to do all of this because I built a business I love.
Now it’s time that I pay it forward. I want to help you to get the same results. The first step is simple, sign up for my newsletter and I will keep you up to date on my journey to freedom and help you on yours.
